From the
Desks of the Christmas Committee
Written
by Bob Thompson
Dear Friend:
This Christmas we have an opportunity to make a worldwide statement
of peace on earth and goodwill toward all humankind.
On behalf of the Christmas Caroling Committee, you are cordially
invited to be a part of an historic world record event. Following
the downtown Mainstreet Christmas Walk in Dixon,
Illinois on December 3, 2004, our community will
join in a Christmas Caroling Celebration that will reflect our love
of the season and also enlist the Dixon community into the Guinness
Book of World Records for the largest carol service of all
time. Presently, the record stands at 519 people in which was established
last year in the City of New York.
Please make plans to be a part of this caroling event in honor of
our heritage, our religion and our military fighting for our values
overseas. The songs will be a mixture of spiritual and fun-spirited
songs which will last approximately 15 minutes to break the world
record.
The entire song list with lyrics will be printed in the Dixon Telegraph
beforehand and we will have additional song sheets available on
the night of the event.
So, mark your calendars: December 3, 2004, 8:45 pm on Hennepin
Avenue by the river, right down the hill by Books On First,
for an event that will crystallize the present moment of Christmas
and preserve our posterity for the years to come.
Please invite all your friends and family to this event to break
the world record.
We look forward to "Sharing the Spirit" with you this
Christmas.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Thompson
