About Brenda

Brenda Carlson Spratt is a Dixon native and has been with Books on First since 2000, and is our only full-time employee.  One day, our local copy shop/printer (an independent who is now unfortunately gone) created business cards and insisted that hers should have a title.  With Proprietor and Proprietor/Manager already taken, Brenda opted for "Larry's Favorite Employee."  Indeed, she is of invaluable assistance to all of us here.  Brenda's husband, Kevin (our go-to maintenance guy), as well as her two daughters, her granddaughter Sadie and grandson Isaiah, are familiar faces to our customers.  Come in and visit with Brenda Mondays through Fridays.

She is pictured here with Antoinette Brown who just moved to the Quad Cities, after working with us part-time for three years.  We all wish her the best of good fortune with continued studies at Western Illinois University, a new apartment, two part-time jobs and a wedding to plan.
