Dixon, IL January 14, 1999 - To the Editor: We're
not sure how many Dixonites are aware of our new bookstore
on First Street. We just stopped in the other day for our
first visit. Both of us, being avid readers, are very excited
about having a bookstore in Dixon again.

"Books on First" is a delightful
place. Pleasant music and the aroma of the best coffee in
town contribute to the cozy atmosphere. They have a section
for children's books and an excellent cross section of adult
books.
The proprietors eagerly helped us locate and order some pretty
obscure titles and they were available in just a couple of
days! |
In this era of mass production and
"warehouse" bookstores, it's nice to have a hometown
bookstore here in Dixon. We hope Dixonites will support this
business and watch it thrive! (The newly released movie "You've
Got Mail" deals with this very subject.) -- Nina Mardauss
